Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara was on Saturday in no mood to implicate the umpires for the dodgy decisions they handed to Indian batsmen in the tri-series match here and said India should have agreed to the use Decision Review System to have a level playing field.(1)
India were at the receiving end of some dodgy decisions as they lost comprehensively by eight wickets.
Three dodgy decisions came from local umpire Kumar Dharmasena while one — that of Yuvraj — was from Pakistani Asad Rauf.
“Even before the Test series we have been for DRS and the only reason I believe why we did not have referral system throughout the Test series and through this series was because India did not want DRS,” Sangakkara said at the post-match press conference when asked about the bad decisions.
“Well, sometimes decisions work for you and sometimes they are against you. But if everything has to be fair use technology. Make it even,” he said.
“The ICC should make technology compulsory now because if some sides are using it and some series we are playing without technology, I don’t think that is right. Everyone should use technology. If it is a must,” he added. -

One of my clients, Steve from United State of America visited us yesterday. He told me that he loved hot spicy Indian food and would love to have an Indian meal. At first I told him to be careful, but when he insisted, I took him to one of my favourite places, Hyderabad House, famous for it’s Biryanis and Tandoori Chicken. I was not particularly hungry, so just ordered a tandoori chicken for myself and Chicken Biryani for Steve. At first when he looked the the Biryani, he was a bit apprehensive, but after tasting it, he literally pounded upon it and fnished it in minutes. He called the waiter and ordered one more Chicken Biryani. Normally one chicken biryani is more than enough for us, but I think Americans have more eating capacity, or rather they love overeating the food they like. No matter they are the fattest nation of the world.
. Nevertheless, jokes apart, I was delighted to see some foregner cherishing Indian food so much. He finished the second Chicken Biryani also. Then I called the waiter and asked for the bill. To my surprise, Steve told me that he would love to have one more of those delicious Chicken Biryani. I warned him that you will seriously repent eating it. He didn’t seem to care, and ordered one more. The waiter smiled at me asked me in local language if the American is on drugs
. I stared him back and he went away.
Finally after finishing off 3rd Biryani, we made a move from the retaurant. He had already started suggesting me that a food chain of Biryanis and other Indian food items will be a huge success in United States. I told him that you will soon know how much successful will it be. As soon as he came back to office, the first place that he visited is loo. He cam back and complained me of little stomach ache. I told him that this is the beginning dude. From that time, he regularly visited the loo every 15 minutes for atleast 5 times. We called a doctor immediately. Thankfully he told that there is nothing serious, it is just the spicy food which is doing the trick. He gave him some tablets and told him drink a lot of water and eat curd rice in the evening. By next morning he was fine. He came to me and told me though no matter how much he loved the Biryani, he won’t dare it eat it again because of the ordeal that he suffered. I told him that it is all a matter of habit. American’s are accustomed to eat very less spicy food, and Indians are more into highly spicy food. So our stomach, liver and other internal digestion organs are adapted accordingly. So, next time when you eat Indian food, eat less, eat to satisfy your tongue, not your stomach. Nevertheless, if you regularly keep eating Indian food, your stomach will get accustomed to it and then you can increase your diet further.

One of my friends bought a Dell Laptop in Bangalore last year. He was pretty happy with the initial performance. By initial duration, I mean just the initial 15 days. After that strange problems started happening in his laptop. First let me tell you the configuration of his laptop. It was a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, with 3 GB ram and 250 GB hard disk. The processor was Intel Core to Duo. I think he had taken the best configuration available at that time.
Now back to problems, the laptop was getting bloody so hot that it was impossible to work on it by keeping it on your lap. It would literally burn your legs out. And you could not watch a movie on it, since it automatically shut down in about 1 hour time. There were many situations where he was doing some important activities like booking ticket or writing email and suddenly the lap top shut down causing loss of data.
Frustated with the behavior of his brand new laptop, he called the Dell Customer Care, fortunately they were helpful. They told him to install some software that would increase the fan speed of his laptop. That worked, finally he was able to use his laptop for longer durations and it stopped shutting down. But the heating problem was still there. I wonder if he could also use his laptop for making egg omelette’s by keeping it upside down.
But to his dismay, this problem again appeared after five months. Again he called the Dell customer care, they came, they cleaned the laptop and they went. The laptop ran smoothly for one month and then again reappeared. He told me that now he was so fed up with his laptop that he was only using it in case of an emergency ( like some urgent email, or ticket booking)
Finally he went to the dell service centre ( after the laptop warranty was over ), and then he came to know from the so called Dell Engineers that the motherboard was faulty from starting itself and that has caused further damage to the laptop. Total cost of repairs INR 14000 ( equivalent to USD$350). He was shattered, disappointed and disgusted and termed this laptop as the worst purchase that he had made throughout his life.
One thing that I would love to ask you guys ( my blog readers) that is the Dell Laptops in India only who are facing such issues, or are these issues common worldwide. Because if former is true I can say that these Dell studs are using some cheap parts from China and Taiwan to make these laptops and supply to Indian market.

What’s up with the Maruti guys. I always fail to understand why they tinker with their old and successful car models. Take for example Old Maruti Zen, a hugely successful and popular car, it’s production was stopped for reasons only known to Maruti. They introduced Zen Estillo in place of it and this new car was a huge debacle. It was an out of flavor car with less resale value compared to other Maruti cars.
I can think of only one reason why Maruti introduced the new Wagon R. Actually Indian customer mindset is very mileage centric. Looks are the last prioirty if you are selling a car to Indian customer.

That is the reason why this mini bus looking car is the third best selling car in the recent times in India. Let me tell you some not so good features about this car. If you are driving Wagon R at pretty high speeds ( more than 100 kms per hour ) and you take a sharp turn, there is a good chance that the car might topple. On road stability of this car is pretty bad at high speeds, thanks to it’s shape.
Back to the newly launched Wagon R, let me tell you what changes the great Maruti engineers have done, firstly they have borrowed the pretty successful high mileage K Series engine of A-Star, and as this engine requires the body to be light, they have made Wagon R body lighter, so expect greater damage to your car in case of an accident. Yes, you can say that the mileage of the car is improved, but at the cost of safety.

Ohh man, what a team we have in the world cup T-20. Pathetic is the word that best suites this team. No. 1 problem, Gautam Gambhir, he converts triples into doubles and doubles into singles. The way he got out in the do or die match against Sri-Lanka would even put gully cricketers to shame. Then come to Raina, a tiger at home and a mediocre anywhere else. Though he scored a lot of runs, but he himself will never rate this innings as a good one. Let’s come back to our captain cool, MS Dhoni, one question to you dude, what were you doing in the middle. Just thinking about how much more money that you will get in the next year IPL bidding. You totally screwed up India’s chances in the world cup. Apart from a single six, you were unable to even mid any ball. First 10 overs, India got a decent 90 runs, and in the next ten overs courtesy you and Raina, India got only 73 runs. India got only 37 runs in last five overs, with 7 wickets in hand, can we see worse than this. It was like you guys never even tried to slog the bowlers. In my view the game was lost in first half itself. We all know that Indian bowlers are mediocre, but after this T-20 world cup we also know that Indian players are paper tigers, kings at home and jokers outside.
And one more thing, it is Sehwag always who thrashes the oppostion, even if he plays 10 balls, but Dhoni never praises him. And see what you guys have achieved without him, just nothing. Now, time to introspect, who is to blame, is it Captain Cool Dhoni, or the chief selector ShriKanth who keeps sending guys like Vijay ( who can’t even defend single bouncer), or someone else. Yes, you guessed it right. There is only one reason why Indians were crushed out of the world cup without winning a single match. And the reason is IPL. Because of this stupid IPL played on flat pitches in India we made heroes out of nothing. It was very easy for Yusuf Pathan and M. Vijay to hit centuries on flat Indian pitches, and everyone started thinking that they were the Sehwags and Gilchrists in the making. But once exposed to fast and bouncy tracks they were below mediocre players. And because of this stupid IPL, we lost one of our smashers Sehwag to injury. It is high time for BCCI to look into this IPL thing before it is too late.
